Join the Staff of Stanford Politics
THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR FALL QUARTER 2017 IS NOW CLOSED, BUT YOU MAY APPLY BELOW TO JOIN IN WINTER QUARTER 2018.
We’re looking for students who are interested in dedicating time and effort to any of the following positions described below.
News Reporters—report on one or more of the following Campus Politics beats (ASSU, university administration, campus activism) or one or more of the following Local Politics beats (housing/urban development, local governments and policy, Silicon Valley)
Events Reporters—attend and cover political events (mostly speakers) on campus
Feature Writers—each staff writer publishes at least two features per quarter, commenting on campus, local, national or international politics
Interviewers—each staff interviewer arranges and holds interviews with at least two relevant public figures or professors per quarter
Graphic Designers—assist Magazine Director Daniela Gonzalez with graphics and layout for Stanford Politics Magazine (issues out in November, January, March and May)
Podcast Producers —make up the podcast team, which plans, records and edits 4 episodes per quarter of Stanford Politics Podcast
Photographers— accompany reporters on campus/local news assignments to take photos for reports
We are also looking to add editors to our staff. We have a variety of different editing positions and will reach out to you (if you check that box) for an interview to figure out what would best fit your interests and abilities.
Please note that the minimum time commitment for all staff members of Stanford Politics is at least a few hours per week, but many staff members go above and beyond that.
